Great band, crappy venue

NIN has always been one of the greatest live bands of all time. And it was very clear that Trent really wanted to make these Palladium shows a very special affair (stuff inside and outside of the venue, hanging extra speakers and lights inside the venue, etc.). But I was once again reminded of how bad the Palladium is as a venue. There are no good vantage points to the stage unless you are standing right in the very front. The stage left balcony is reserved for VIP only, and then a whole portion of the stage right balcony (the best part of the balcony) is, once again, reserved for VIP. We stood in a cramped, semi-obstructed view area in the stage right balcony while we watched a handful of fat industry cats stretched out in their stage right VIP area that was not even remotely filled. Annoying. And, lastly, I get the need to keep aisles and exits clear (especially with a 5,000 cap room), but when you get onto the floor, you are barraged by venue employees shining flashlights at you telling you where you can/cannot stand. It's constant and gets annoying fast. Bravo to Trent and the band for such a stellar performance, but that is absolutely my last time going to the Palladium. Blah!
